Shabbat Salaam X

Join us on Friday, May 31, for Shabbat Salaam X, an interfaith dining experience that brings Jews, Muslims and young adults of other backgrounds together for dialogue, culture and community. Making this Shabbat experience extra special is the fact that it is taking place during the last Friday night of this year’s Ramadan festival, meaning this dinner will also be an Iftar dinner (the meal that breaks the Ramadan fast).

About the food: Given that we believe in food as an incredible tool to bring people of all backgrounds together, this event will feature selected vegetarian dishes from North Africa and the old Ottoman and Persian Empires, where Jews and Muslims lived (and ate) together for thousands of years. Catered by Bishulim SF chef, Aliza Grayevsky, this dinner is bound to leave a lasting impression on your palate.

This event is made possible thanks to the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation’s Grassroots Events Program.  Partners for this event include Interfaith Ventures, JDC Entwine, JIMENA and OneTable.
