First Jews, now Christians: Libya’s persecution complex

Gina-WaldmanRecent news that the new Libyan government has arrested four foreign nationals on charges that they were proselytizing Christianity in Libya is  deeply troubling. It shows that the intolerance that forced me to flee my native country has not changed since I left Libya more than 45 years ago.

Sadly, the story of the Swedish-American, Egyptian, South African and South Korean who were arrested for printing and distributing bible pamphlets in Benghazi by a unit of the Libyan Defense Ministry known as Preventative Security, brings back sad memories. Read More
