JIMENA Congratulates First Cohort of Sephardic Leaders Fellows

With the support of the San Francisco Jewish Community Federation in January 2021, JIMENA piloted the first cohort of our Sephardic Leaders Fellowship in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This six-month program is designed for Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewish communal professionals, emerging lay leaders, and allies to gain traditional Middle-Eastern Jewish knowledge, build a community of practice and friendship, and gain new perspectives on Sephardic inclusion and leadership. Each fellow participated in bi-monthly learning and engagement sessions facilitated by top Mizrahi and Sephardic thought-leaders, scholars, activists, and rabbis from around the world.

Fellows are now tasked with sharing lessons learned during the fellowship with the institutions and communities they serve in an effort to help the San Francisco Bay Area Jewish community become more inclusive and representative of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews. Join JIMENA in thanking this incredible cohort of dedicated leaders for their commitment to building a more inclusive Jewish community that reflects us all.
