In honor of the tenth anniversary of Israel’s legislation designating November 30th as the National Day to Commemorate Jewish Refugees from North Africa and the Middle East, and the subsequent launch of JIMENA’s Mizrahi Heritage Month in the United States, JIMENA, The Consulate General of Israel to the Pacific Northwest, and The Consulate General of Israel to Los Angeles invite you to special commemoration programs with keynote speaker Fleur Hassan-Nahoum.
Fleur Hassan-Nahoum grew up in Gibraltar and is a distinguished Israeli politician, policymaker, and media expert. She studied law at King’s College London and, in 2018, was appointed Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, overseeing foreign relations, economic development, and tourism. Fleur co-founded the UAE-Israel Business Council and the Gulf Israel Women’s Forum in 2020. Since September 2023, she has served as Israel’s special envoy for innovation, and she recently became the first woman appointed as Secretary General of Kol Israel, the ideological successor to the General Zionist Party in the World Zionist Congress. Additionally, Fleur is a senior fellow at the Misgav Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy and serves on its international advisory council.
