Training & Research

JIMENA strengthens Jewish institutions and communities by advancing understanding, inclusion, and representation of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews. Through professional development, educational workshops, leadership training, and community-based research, we equip educators, communal professionals, and institutions with the data, knowledge, resources, and tools to better serve diverse Jewish populations and foster a more inclusive Jewish future.

Training

JIMENA’s training programs equip Jewish communal professionals, educators, institutional leaders, and allies with the data, knowledge, skills, and resources to deepen understanding of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewish histories and identities, understand and address contemporary antisemitism and human rights, strengthen and empower Jewish leadership, and foster more inclusive and representative Jewish communities.

Sephardic Leaders Fellowship

Research

At JIMENA, we believe that meaningful, effective communal work must be grounded in rigorous research, reliable data, and a deep understanding of the communities we serve. Our commitment to evidence-based programming, advocacy, and institutional change has led us to commission and publish groundbreaking studies conducted by researchers at New York University, Tulane University, Yeshiva University, and Brandeis University. Through this research, we seek to address critical gaps in knowledge, elevate the experiences and perspectives of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews, and provide Jewish institutions, educators, policymakers, and communal leaders with the insights needed to make informed decisions and build a more inclusive Jewish future.
