The Jewish Refugees from Arab Countries: An Examination of Legal Rights

Attorney and scholar Carole Basri uses the Jews of Iraq as a case study of the displacement of Jews from Arab countries. She traces their legal status under dhimmi rule, the discrimination and violence that drove them out, including the 1941 Farhud, and the international law standards Iraq violated, arguing that any lasting regional peace must account for the rights of these refugees.
